Flour price will come reduce in next few days – Shaukat Tareen
ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has claimed that the price of flour will come reduce in a next few days.

During a press conference in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tareen said that to increase the income of the people, targeted subsidies will be given on flour, sugar and other essential commodities this month. Will reduce profit margins.

“Farmers have been affected by the decline in agricultural production. We will increase the production of agricultural commodities. If we close the market to the world, this market will not reopen. We will ask retailers why they are taking 400% margin,” he said. 

He also said that the role of middlemen was being abolished to give fair prices to the farmers. Prices are being fixed from farmers to retailers, he said, adding that retailer’s profit margin will be reduced. Farmers were affected due to reduction in agricultural production, Tareen said.

He said the coronavirus epidemic and disruption in supply and demand had pushed up the prices of daily necessities internationally.

Tareen also said that to help Afghanistan, Pakistan will export to the neighboring country in rupees
