Cambodia: Health Minister says it has become coronavirus-free country

Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Cambodia has become a coronavirus free country now as the last patient has been discharged from hospital after recovery.

The health ministry has urged the people to continue following safety precautions.

It did not say whether there would be easing of restrictions including reopening of schools and border entry checks.

The Southeast Asian country last reported its new case on April 12.

According to the health ministry, since January tests had been conducted on 14,684 people.

Globally, over 300,000 have so far died from the virus.

The pandemic has infected over 4.3 million people across the world and over 1.5 million have recovered so far.
